More Than a Photography Class
Every Focus on Wonder workshop starts from the same belief: we shouldn't take the beauty around us for granted.
You'll spend the week in small-group, hands-on instruction with photographers who've spent decades behind the lens. Not memorizing camera settings in a classroom, but chasing golden light in the field, working through real compositions, and getting honest feedback on your own images.
You'll go home with a stronger portfolio, new friends who share your passion, and, we hope, a little more of that sense of wonder we all started with.
Frequently Asked Questions
What level of photography knowledge do I need?
Both experienced and beginner photographers are welcome on every Focus on Wonder workshop. Instruction adjusts to your individual skill level, so you'll leave with a stronger portfolio no matter where you start.
Am I too old or too young for this?
All ages are welcome — we've had guests from 18 to 80. The only requirement is a genuine desire to learn and grow.
Can my non-photographer companion join me?
Yes. Non-photographers are welcome under the same booking terms and pricing — they're free to enjoy the scenery while respecting the group's shooting schedule.
Where can I find full pricing, dates, and logistics?
Every detail — pricing, deposits, what's included, travel logistics, and gear lists — lives on each workshop's own page. Jump to the Great Smoky Mountains or Utah workshop page for specifics.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancellations prior to 180 days before the workshop will receive either a full refund or credit to a future workshop minus a 10% administration fee. Cancellations within 90 days of the workshop cannot be refunded, but if we are able to fill the vacancy, you can receive a credit to a future workshop minus the administration fee. Workshop credits are good for one calendar year from the date of the missed workshop.
Cancellations within 30 days of the workshop (for any reason) will forfeit their entire registration fee as it is extremely difficult to fill the space on that short of notice.
